The requirement
A trade customer had a steam job booked in and needed valve options checked before ordering. They had drawings and
a valve schedule to work from, with pressure and temperature requirements that needed reviewing against available
valve datasheets.
They needed practical support before committing materials to the job: suitable valve options, datasheets for review
and a clear view of availability.
How we helped
- Discussed the application, pressure requirements and temperature requirements
- Reviewed forged steel valve options for suitable steam applications
- Sent manufacturer datasheets before the customer committed to the order
- Arranged supply quickly where stock and supplier availability allowed
Supply detail
For this enquiry, the items discussed included forged steel gate valves, forged steel check valves, a steam float
trap and thermodynamic steam traps. Datasheets were sent across so the customer could review the pressure and
temperature ratings before ordering.
Manufacturer datasheets showed temperature ratings up to 425°C depending on valve type, pressure rating and
system conditions.
Final specification and system design remain the responsibility of the installer, contractor or project engineer.
